ComTrade Open Day Two

During the second ComTrade Open Day we accommodated 90 students from the Faculties of Technology in Belgrade. The program of this second event was covered with lectures regarding Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.

Marko Filipovic, student-consultant of Microsoft introduced to students the latter’s latest and long-expected version of operational system. This was an opportunity for students to be among the first to learn about the advantages of Vista compared to the other operational systems.

Through a lecture about Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, an illustration of how different operation systems function in our company gave Mr. Josip Bugarcic – software architect in ComTrade ITSS Development Team. He revealed to students a detailed description of this system’s purposes and capabilities.

In between two Open Days, by practical engagements our company gave to students the opportunity to experience the working atmosphere in a big company like ours. Hence, Tatijana Babic and Ivan Mosic experienced working in ComTrade ITSS Development Team, whereas Tamara Trifinovic and Uros Milicev did the same in CHS.

We were told that by giving the students such an opportunity they were able to apply the theory they cover into practice, which is what they are missing in the classroom. 

After the end of the second Open Day, best students will again get the chance to learn about our business operations. This time they will be able to work as interns in ComTrade’s Web Team and ComTrade ITSS Navison Team.

Since our idea to engage students in our company in the long-run, we have decided besides workshops and lectures to organize competitions which will also provide opportunities for the best to get engaged in internships. Another goal which we plan to fully accomplish is to establish exclusive computer science club. Accordingly, through discussion forums the members of the club would be able to obtain additional information about our company and its operations, learn what is new from the IT business in the world-wide and in our market, as well as participate with their ideas in future activities of our company.

The Open Day manifestation, which supports development of young talents, slowly becomes traditional and acquires characteristics of respectful event, which is seldom found elsewhere in the region.
